Air India CEO Campbell Wilson, in an internal communication, confirmed that all Boeing 787 aircraft in the airline’s fleet were inspected following last month’s crash, and each was deemed airworthy. He emphasized that the preliminary investigation report had found no mechanical faults or maintenance lapses in either the aircraft or the engines. “All Boeing 787s in our fleet were checked within days of the accident and were cleared for service. We continue to carry out all required checks and will follow any new directives from authorities,” Wilson wrote on the internal portal.

He reiterated that all mandatory maintenance work had been completed prior to the incident and addressed the speculation and concerns that followed the release of the preliminary report. While acknowledging that the report offered some clarity, he noted it also raised new questions.

Wilson urged staff not to jump to conclusions. “The preliminary report has not identified a cause or made any recommendations. The investigation remains ongoing, and it’s important to withhold judgment until it is complete,” he said, adding that Air India remains committed to fully supporting the inquiry.
