In a tragic incident, a grieving school called a water tanker to clean blood instead of arranging an ambulance after a Class 10 boy was fatally stabbed parents
The heartbreaking accident in a private school in Ahmedabad has become a cause of anger. The parents allege that the administration delayed the class 10 student in giving lifesaving medical aid after a fatal attack.
The victim, Nayan Santani, was attacked at the Seventh Day Adventist Higher Secondary School on Tuesday. It is alleged that instead of calling an ambulance, the school ordered a water tanker to clean the blood, which led to the allegations of hiding the case and criminal negligence by parents and officials. Investigation has revealed that there was a delay of 30 minutes in sending the injured student to the hospital, by then he had died due to anemia.
Angered parents and local residents mobilized outside the school, staging massive protests. Over 500 individuals were later booked for rioting and vandalism. Law enforcement, along with the education department, launched a formal probe into the school’s inaction, the delayed ambulance response, and possible evidence tampering by hosing down the campus.
Officials from the Crime Branch and District Education Office are looking into CCTV footage, digital communication, and conduct of both school staff and Khokhra police, who reportedly delayed forensic experts by nearly 12 hours. Two minors are currently being questioned in this case.
This tragic incident has raised serious questions on the safety system of schools, quick medical assistance and accountability of institutions in the safety of children. Now the whole city is waiting to see what lesson will be taken from this great negligence.
