Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, part of an all-party delegation led by Sanjay Kumar Jha for global outreach on Operation Sindoor, highlighted evidence of Pakistan’s connections with terrorist groups. Speaking to the Indian diaspora in Singapore, Banerjee questioned how a military official could attend the funerals of designated terrorists and asked what more proof was needed to confirm Pakistan’s terror links. “There is plenty of public evidence showing high-ranking Pakistani military officers attending the funerals of labeled terrorists. Where else do you see this? What more proof do you want?” he asked.
He urged people to share this information widely on social media, emphasizing the critical role platforms like Twitter play today. “Twitter threads travel faster than diplomatic cables. We need to step up our efforts,” Banerjee added. Addressing opposition parties’ stance on national security, he said that despite political disagreements with the central government, he ensures these do not affect the country’s security interests.
“Many people who don’t follow politics closely wonder where the opposition stands on national security and sovereignty. While I may fiercely oppose the ruling party on political issues, I will always prioritize the nation’s security and interests over politics,” Banerjee stated. He is part of a multi-party delegation led by JD-U MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, which includes members from BJP, CPI-M, and other prominent leaders.
The delegation’s goal is to inform India’s global partners about the country’s position on terrorism and the response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack by Indian forces.
Sanjay Kumar Jha criticized Pakistan, stating that the entire Pakistani system is built on terrorism. “All political parties are united in this. We are telling the world the truth about Pakistan and its military… their entire system is based on sponsoring and training terrorists and sending them across the border,” he said in Singapore. Jha added that Operation Sindoor aimed to eliminate terrorists trained and supported by Pakistan while avoiding civilian casualties. “The operation was conducted at night to prevent harm to civilians or military infrastructure,” he said.
BJP MP Hemang Joshi, also part of the delegation, said they met Singapore’s foreign affairs minister, parliamentarians, and business leaders to reiterate that India is peace-loving but will treat any terrorist act as an act of war by Pakistan. BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi affirmed that it is clear Pakistan is involved in supporting terrorism.
