Tejashwi Hints at Muslim Deputy CM Face in Bihar

Date: Oct 25, 2025 | Source: Fela News

In a charged interview from Patna, Tejashwi Yadav didn’t hold back: he said the people of Bihar don’t trust the incumbent National Democratic Alliance (NDA) any more, and his opposition bloc is ready for change. He also hinted at putting up a Muslim face as his deputy CM candidate in the upcoming election, signalling a bold shift in alliance strategy.

Yadav accused the NDA government of slipping into a trust deficit and claimed the alliance he heads has the unity and vision Bihar needs. He emphasised that representation cannot just be token he said “people don’t trust” the status‐quo anymore, and actions must follow words.

By raising the possibility that a Muslim leader might be elevated in the deputy CM role, Yadav is reaching out to the approximately 18% Muslim population of the state. It’s a move that carries both symbolic weight and political risk: some commentators say representation speaks volumes, while others wonder whether this is political calculation.

For voters, the message is clear: the opposition is talking about inclusion and change. Whether it delivers will be the real test. For now, the promise stands a new kind of politics, or at least a new narrative, in Bihar’s 2025 assembly elections.
