India’s youth received a major boost as Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed more than 61,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates across the country during the 18th National Rozgar Mela. The initiative reflects the government’s continued focus on employment generation and youth empowerment at a time when job creation remains a key national priority.

The Rozgar Mela was organised simultaneously across 45 locations nationwide, with the Prime Minister addressing the programme virtually from New Delhi. He described the appointment letters not merely as job offers but as an invitation to serve the nation, reminding new recruits of their responsibility toward public service and constitutional values.

Linking the event with national observances such as Basant Panchami, Parakram Diwas, and the upcoming National Voters Day, the Prime Minister said these occasions symbolise fresh beginnings and renewed energy for young citizens stepping into government roles.

The selected candidates will be deployed across multiple ministries and departments, including Home Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, Higher Education, Railways, and Financial Services. This wide distribution highlights the government’s effort to strengthen administrative capacity across essential sectors.

Emphasising India’s demographic advantage, the Prime Minister noted that the country’s young population plays a crucial role in driving economic growth. He reiterated that expanding employment opportunities remains central to national development, supported by reforms, infrastructure expansion, and global economic engagement.

Rozgar Melas have gradually become a structured platform for transparent and efficient recruitment, helping bridge the gap between qualified youth and government vacancies. The 18th edition further strengthens this institutional mechanism.

For thousands of young Indians, the appointment letters represent the start of professional journeys rooted in stability, service, and growth. As employment continues to remain a core policy focus, initiatives like the Rozgar Mela aim to convert aspirations into meaningful opportunities.
