If you’re planning to pursue a PhD in India and are looking for a structured, research-oriented program, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) in Faridabad could be a great option. The university offers PhD programs in over 44 disciplines ranging from Engineering and Management to Humanities, Sciences, and Design. Here’s a simple breakdown of the entire process, from application to fellowship. To be eligible, candidates must apply as full-time research scholars. That means you can’t be employed elsewhere or be receiving any other fellowship like UGC, CSIR, or GATE. However, if you’re NET or GATE qualified, that works in your favour MRIIRS gives preference to such applicants, especially for its limited research fellowship slots.

The application process is clearly straightforward. First, you’ll need to fill out the online form at the official portal apply.manavrachna.edu.in/mriirs-phd. Upload your documents, identification, a research proposal, and your NET/GATE scorecard if you have it. Once that’s submitted, you’ll be invited to present for a written entrance exam unless you’ve already qualified through national-level tests like NET or GATE, in which case you may get an exemption. Selected candidates are then called for a personal interview with a panel of faculty members. After successfully clearing the interview, you’ll be required to verify your original documents and pay the required fees to confirm your admission. In terms of fees, here’s a general idea: the registration fee is approximately ₹25,000, coursework fee is around ₹45,000 (one-time), annual research fees are ₹70,000, and thesis submission will cost about ₹35,000. Keep in mind that these numbers may big, so it’s best to double-check the latest structure on the official website.

MRIIRS also offers its own research internship to deserving full-time PhD scholars. However, only a limited number of fellowships are available, and candidates already receiving any government fellowship are not eligible. Preference is again given to those who have cleared NET, GATE, or other national-level exams. start with the online form, appear for the entrance or submit your exemption proof, attend the interview, verify your documents, and pay the fees. Once enrolled, you’ll be able to get your PhD under the guidance of experienced supervisors in a well established academic environment.
