Trinamool Congress is going to skip the delimitation meet hosted by MK Stalin as it feels duplicate voter ID numbers are a bigger issue.
According to sources, the Trinamool Congress, headed by Mamta Banerjee, is set to skip the delimitation meeting in Chennai hosted by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
The source said that Trinamool feels the duplicate voter ID issue is of much greater importance as it may impact the Assembly polls in Bihar, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.
The Assembly elections in Bihar are said to be slated later this year while polls in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Kerala are due in 2026.
Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, W. Bengal, and Punjab are the seven states that Stalin-led DMK had reached out to presenting a united front against the delimitation issue.
