Four individuals from Thiruvananthapuram tragically lost their lives in a road accident in Tamil Nadu while en route to a pilgrimage in Velankanni. The incident occurred on Sunday morning near Karuveppanchery in Thiruvarur district when their van collided with a TNSRTC bus. The victims, identified as Rajinath, Rajesh, Sajith, and Rahul, all residents of Thiruvananthapuram, died at the scene.
Three others—Rajinas from Kanjiramkulam, Sabu, and Sunil from Nellimoodu—suffered serious injuries and were taken to the Thiruthuraipoondi Government Hospital.
The group had set out from Thiruvananthapuram for Velankanni when the accident occurred. The bus involved was traveling from Nagapattinam to Ramandhapuram.
The Veeraiyur police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
