RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat underscored the importance of social equality and harmony during a recent camp organized in Kashi. Addressing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers on Sunday, he stated that caste-based discrimination must be eradicated to create an inclusive society. Bhagwat made a strong appeal for equal rights, asserting that “from temples to cremation grounds, no individual should face discrimination.” His remarks are being widely interpreted as a progressive step towards bridging social divides in India.
He urged RSS members to actively promote unity and inclusivity within their communities, emphasizing that the time has come to move beyond caste divisions. According to Bhagwat, creating a harmonious society requires collective effort and a commitment to ensuring equal dignity for all. He encouraged Sangh workers to serve as agents of social change by reaching out to every family in their areas and reinforcing the values of “samrasta” and “samanata”.
During the camp, Bhagwat also reviewed the ongoing activities conducted by local RSS branches and service units. He stressed the importance of expanding the organization’s outreach and strengthening connections at the grassroots level. He reiterated the organization’s core philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” — the world is one family — as a guiding principle for their work across various sectors of society.
Bhagwat’s statement marks a significant moment in the Sangh's evolving stance on social issues. By calling for equal access to religious spaces, water sources, and cremation grounds, he highlighted the need to build a society where every individual, irrespective of caste, is treated with respect and fairness. The message is expected to resonate widely and encourage further dialogue on eliminating caste-based inequities.
