Indian security forces on Friday evening intercepted multiple Pakistani drone incursions across Punjab's Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka, and Amritsar districts. The situation escalated after explosions were heard, prompting local authorities to impose blackouts. In Ferozepur’s Khai Pheme Ke village, a projectile from a downed drone struck a house, causing a fire and injuring three—Lakhwinder Singh, his wife Sukhwinder Kaur, and his brother Monu Singh. Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma confirmed that emergency teams were dispatched to the site.

The drone threats followed India’s earlier action to thwart Pakistani attempts to target military infrastructure in Jammu and Pathankot. In response, blackouts were enforced across Ferozepur, Pathankot, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Fazilka, Muktsar, and Sangrur. Air raid sirens were activated in key areas, and residents reported hearing blast-like sounds in multiple districts including Dera Baba Nanak and Dasuya.

Officials confirmed that drones were neutralised in Fazilka and Amritsar. Pathankot Deputy Commissioner Aditya Uppal urged residents to follow blackout protocols, remain indoors, and avoid using backup lighting or vehicle headlights.

In Hoshiarpur, a blackout was enforced at 8:15 p.m. amid ongoing drone threats, which targeted 26 locations from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat for the second consecutive night. These incursions follow India’s targeted strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
