India confirms 35–40 Pakistani soldiers killed, several PAF aircraft downed, and major military infrastructure destroyed in Operation Sindoor; over 100 terroris
The Indian Armed Forces revealed on Sunday that 35–40 Pakistani soldiers were killed along the Line of Control (LoC) and several Pakistani Air Force aircraft were lost during Operation Sindoor, a series of high-precision retaliatory strikes. The announcement came a day after both nations agreed to halt military actions.
Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, along with Air Marshal A.K. Bharti and Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod stated that over 100 terrorists were eliminated on the operation’s first day, including high-profile figures like Yusuf Azhar and Muddasir. Of the nine terror hubs targeted, five were in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The IAF prevented any major intrusion by PAF aircraft, shooting down a few, though exact numbers are still being assessed.
Significant damage was inflicted on Pakistani infrastructure, including radar systems and airfields in Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Chaklala, Bholari, and others. India lost five personnel during the operation.
Vice Admiral Pramod confirmed full naval deployment in the Arabian Sea, maintaining readiness to strike targets at sea and on land.
Despite the ceasefire, Pakistan violated the agreement within hours with cross-border firing and drone activity. General Ghai said Indian forces are prepared to respond “fiercely and punitively” to any further violations.
