The Jammu and Kashmir Congress strongly condemned Pakistan on Friday for launching missile and drone attacks on Jammu and surrounding areas on Thursday night, warning that the country "will have to pay for its sins."
Ravinder Sharma, the party’s chief spokesperson, expressed outrage over Pakistan’s provocative actions, calling them escalatory. "Pakistan will pay for its sins," Sharma stated.
On Thursday night, India successfully thwarted Pakistan’s attempts to strike military sites in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur using drones and missiles. This came after similar attacks were intercepted at 15 locations across northern and western India, as tensions between the two nations reached a boiling point. The Indian armed forces acted swiftly, neutralizing all missiles and drones targeting key locations in Jammu and its vicinity.
Pakistan launched eight missiles aimed at civilian and strategic areas, including Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia. However, Indian Air Defence units intercepted all the missiles, preventing casualties. These renewed efforts from Pakistan followed India’s missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
