On Saturday, April 25, a defence official reported that Pakistan had violated the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir by initiating unprovoked gunfire. According to the official, the Indian Army responded suitably using small arms, and fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The incident occurred during the night of April 25–26, when multiple Pakistani Army posts allegedly opened fire across the LoC, prompting retaliatory action from Indian troops.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) strongly denounced the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which took place on April 22 and resulted in the deaths of at least 26 people, with many others injured. In a press statement, the 15-member Council condemned the attack in the strongest possible terms and called for those responsible—including the perpetrators, organizers, and sponsors—to be brought to justice.

In a separate development, U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the longstanding tensions between India and Pakistan, noting on Friday, April 25, that the two countries have experienced border disputes for centuries. He expressed confidence that the leaders of both nations would eventually resolve their differences, stating, “There has been tension on that border for 1,500 years. But they'll figure it out, one way or another. I know both leaders well.”
