Satellite imagery confirms India’s precision strikes on eight Pakistani airbases on May 10, targeting key military infrastructure and radar systems in response
Satellite imagery released by India’s defence ministry and commercial providers on Sunday confirmed that the Indian military conducted precision strikes on eight key Pakistani air bases on May 10. These attacks occurred just hours before both countries agreed to halt military operations. According to sources, India launched the strikes using missiles and other long-range weaponry in retaliation for Pakistan’s earlier attempts to target 26 Indian military sites the same day. The sources noted that the strikes highlighted a significant disparity in the technological and operational capabilities of the two armed forces.
Geo-intelligence expert Damien Symon from The Intel Lab stated that the imagery verified the accuracy and precision of the Indian strikes, which appeared aimed at disabling specific military infrastructure while minimizing civilian damage. At Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan airbase, vehicles were destroyed and an operations-related building was damaged. Sargodha airbase in Punjab province saw two hits on its runway, likely grounding flight operations until repairs are completed.
In Jacobabad, Sindh province, the Shahbaz airbase suffered a strike on a hangar near the air traffic control tower, which remained intact. At the Rahim Yar Khan base, the runway sustained heavy damage, exposing deeper structural layers and indicating long-term disruption. This base was reportedly the most severely affected.
Sukkur airbase in Sindh province experienced significant damage to a UAV storage depot, including roof destruction and visible debris. At Bholari air base in southern Sindh, a hangar believed to be used for early warning systems or maintenance suffered major structural damage, with debris scattered around.
Additionally, satellite imagery indicated that India also targeted radar installations associated with Pakistan’s surveillance and early warning networks, potentially impairing the Pakistan Air Force’s ability to monitor and conduct operations.
