An Indian Air Force( IAF) airman who sustained injuries in a Jaguar fighter spurt crash in Gujarat has passed away, the IAF verified in a statement on Thursday. Another airman, who managed to eject safely from the aircraft, is presently witnessing treatment at a sanitarium in Jamnagar.
The aircraft, which was on a training charge, crashed around 930 pm on Wednesday near Suvarda vill, roughly 12 km from Jamnagar megacity, and caught fire. vids from the crash point showed the geriatric Jaguar spurt breaking piecemeal and gulfed in dears. The IAF assured that there were no mercenary casualties. A court of inquiry has been initiated to determine the cause of the crash.
" The aviators encountered a specialized malfunction and initiated ejection, icing no detriment to the airport or original population. Tragically, one airman succumbed to his injuries, while the other is entering medical care in Jamnagar. The IAF deeply regrets this loss and extends its support to the bereft family," the statement read.
According to police, the injured airman is being treated at the government- run GG Sanitarium, where his condition is stable.
