Delhi experienced a heavy spell of rain on Tuesday morning, bringing much-needed relief from the heat but causing waterlogging and traffic disruptions across various parts of south and southwest Delhi. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted continued rainfall throughout the day with a “generally cloudy sky and moderate rain,” with similar conditions expected on Wednesday (July 23) and lighter showers on Thursday.

Commuters reported slow traffic and flooded roads due to water accumulation. In a striking scene ahead of the Parliament's Monsoon Session, rainwater was seen flowing down the steps of the Parliament building. However, normal traffic movement was noted in areas like Rafi Marg and North Avenue despite the downpour.

The Delhi airport issued a weather advisory at 10:23 AM, stating that flight operations remain unaffected despite IMD’s forecast of inclement conditions. Ground teams are coordinating with stakeholders to ensure smooth travel.

Meanwhile, Delhi's air quality remained in the “moderate” category with an AQI of 103. The minimum temperature was 26°C, with the maximum expected around 35°C. Humidity levels stood at 83% at 8:30 AM.
