The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Vipul Vaghela, his wife Sonal (26), and their children—Kareena (11), Mayur (8), and Princess (5), according to Bagodara police officials.

Ahmedabad (Rural) Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat stated that the police were alerted to the tragedy around 2 a.m. “Initial findings suggest the family may have died after ingesting a poisonous substance. The precise circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated,” he said.

Authorities are exploring whether the deaths were the result of a suicide pact or a murder-suicide. “We are examining whether the man may have taken the lives of his wife and children before ending his own, or if both parents could have poisoned the children before dying themselves,” Mr. Jat added.

Vaghela reportedly worked as an auto-rickshaw driver. The bodies have been sent for autopsy, and the investigation remains ongoing.
