Train services were disrupted for over two hours on Thursday morning after an inebriated woman drove her car onto railway tracks near Shankarpalli in Telangana’s Vikarabad district. The incident caused delays to Hyderabad–Bengaluru bound trains and raised serious concerns about security lapses at the site. According to railway officials, the woman was allegedly attempting to shoot social media reels while under the influence of alcohol when she accessed the tracks.

When intercepted by police officers, the woman reportedly refused to cooperate, issued threats, and attempted to flee the scene. A high-speed chase followed, ending when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree nearby. Fortunately, no injuries or collisions were reported due to the timely intervention by railway and police personnel. The woman was taken into custody and is being booked under multiple charges, including trespassing, endangering public safety, and obstructing train operations.

Authorities have launched a full-fledged investigation into the breach, calling it a major lapse in railway security. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and witnesses are being questioned to understand how the woman managed to enter a restricted area with a vehicle. Officials emphasized the severity of the incident, noting that such behavior poses significant risks not only to the offender but also to train passengers and railway staff. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have been instructed to enhance patrols and surveillance in the region. The South Central Railway has assured that all delayed trains have resumed operations and stressed that further action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing inquiry.
