BJP Slams Rahul Gandhi Over Boston Remarks on Election Commission, Accuses Him of Defaming India Abroad

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi faced strong criticism from BJP leaders on Monday following his remarks about the Election Commission during a speech in Boston. BJP spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill accused Gandhi of suffering from “Entitled Child Syndrome,” claiming he insults Indian democracy abroad to mask his political failures. “He rarely questions things in India and spends time on jungle safaris,” Shergill told ANI.

On X, BJP’s Pradeep Bhandari called Gandhi “anti-democracy” and claimed his comments reflect his inability to win Indian voters' trust. He further accused him of acting on behalf of foreign interests. Similarly, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said Gandhi has a habit of criticizing Indian institutions on foreign platforms.

BJP MP Sambit Patra said Gandhi repeatedly insults India abroad and mentioned that the Enforcement Directorate has named both Rahul and Sonia Gandhi in a chargesheet. He warned that such actions won’t be tolerated.

Gandhi, during his Boston address, questioned the Election Commission over a voting surge during the Maharashtra assembly polls, alleging inconsistencies and lack of transparency, including denial of access to polling videography.
