In response to the ongoing India-Pakistan military conflict, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has emphasized that war is not a viable solution and has called for peaceful resolution of disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.
At a special online meeting of its office-bearers held on Thursday, the board passed a resolution expressing concern over rising tensions along the India-Pakistan border. It also announced a temporary suspension of its public activities under the "Save Waqf Campaign" until May 16 due to the current situation. However, the board clarified that smaller indoor initiatives—like interfaith dialogues, mosque sermons, meetings with civil society members, and press briefings—will continue as planned.
In its statement, the AIMPLB affirmed its support for all necessary measures taken to protect the nation and stressed the need for unity among citizens, political parties, the military, and the government during these critical times.
The board strongly condemned terrorism and the killing of civilians, stating that such acts are completely against Islamic principles, international norms, and human values. It reiterated that armed conflict—especially between nuclear-armed nations like India and Pakistan—can lead to catastrophic consequences for both sides and should be avoided at all costs.
The AIMPLB concluded by expressing hope that tensions would soon ease and peace would be restored.
