Vijay Sethupathi, whose talent is widely acknowledged and whose cinematic work is unmatched, is preparing for his upcoming Tamil film Ace, directed by Arumuga Kumar. In an interview with Hindustan Times, the Jawan actor shared his admiration for Bollywood director-actor Anurag Kashyap and discussed his future in Hindi cinema.

Anurag Kashyap recently revealed how Vijay Sethupathi helped him secure a role in Maharaja when he needed financial support for his daughter’s wedding. Vijay reflected on this, saying, “It was his generosity. We had approached several people in Chennai for the role of Selvam, but nothing worked out. Then we asked Anurag Kashyap, who is a friend, and he agreed. We are grateful to him. Despite having a serious shoulder injury during the climax shoot, he insisted on crawling with one hand to make the scene more authentic. That’s the kind of dedication and kindness he showed.”

On his upcoming Hindi projects and his approach to roles, Vijay said, “I’m in talks for several projects, including Farzi 2, which will be announced soon. For me, every role is challenging. I don’t specifically seek challenging parts, as even simplicity in front of the camera is tough. No role is easy. Some characters, like the transgender Shilpa in Super Deluxe or Vaathiyar in Viduthalai, required deep understanding. This applies to many characters I’ve played, including Kadasi Vivasayi. The challenge lies in grasping the essence of diverse roles and portraying them convincingly.”

Additionally, Vijay Sethupathi is part of a pan-Indian film by director Puri Jagannadh, starring Tabu, which will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
