Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par crosses ₹100 crore worldwide in just four days. The sports comedy-drama sees strong weekend growth, inching closer to Jaat's lif
Aamir Khan’s latest release Sitaare Zameen Par has crossed the ₹100 crore mark globally within four days of its theatrical release. The sports comedy-drama, which hit cinemas on June 21, witnessed a significant surge in box office earnings over the weekend following a decent opening. Despite a slight dip in collections on its first Monday, the film maintained strong momentum, driven by positive word of mouth and widespread praise.
According to trade estimates from Sacnilk, the film has grossed ₹80 crore in India and collected ₹66.65 crore net. An additional ₹30 crore from international markets brings its total worldwide gross to ₹110 crore. Sitaare Zameen Par is now closing in on the lifetime collection of Sunny Deol’s Jaat (₹118.36 crore) and is also being compared to other recent hits like Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which stands at ₹177 crore. The film has received acclaim from both critics and the film industry, with celebrities like Javed Akhtar and Mahesh Babu praising its emotional impact and box office performance.
Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par is a spiritual successor to Aamir Khan’s 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. This time, Aamir plays a short-tempered basketball coach tasked with training neurodivergent children after a court-ordered punishment. The ensemble cast includes Genelia Deshmukh and ten debutants with special abilities, making the story both impactful and inclusive. Aamir confirmed the film will remain a theatrical exclusive, a decision applauded by the Multiplex Association of India. With strong momentum, the film is expected to maintain its box office presence in the coming weeks.
