In a serious development, Mumbai Crime Branch has issued a Look Out Circular against a suspected member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang after an alleged extortion threat of Rs 20 crore targeting actor Ranveer Singh. The action came after a threatening voice message was reportedly received, creating concern among the actor’s team.
According to police sources, the voice note was sent through a messaging platform and claimed to be from a gang member known as Harry Boxer. The caller allegedly demanded a huge amount of money and warned of consequences if the demand was not fulfilled. After the complaint was filed, authorities began verification process and registered an FIR.
The Look Out Circular means that if the accused attempts to leave the country, he can be detained at airports or border checkpoints. Police are now coordinating with different state agencies to track his location and prevent any possible escape. Investigators are also examining whether this threat is linked to other similar intimidation cases involving high profile personalities.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has earlier been associated with threats directed at public figures, and law enforcement agencies are taking such incidents seriously. Security around Ranveer Singh has reportedly been tightened as precautionary measure while investigation continues.
Officials have stated that they are committed to ensuring safety and bringing those responsible to justice. The case highlights growing concerns about online threats and organised extortion attempts targeting celebrities. Further updates are expected as probe moves ahead and authorities gather more evidence.
