New Malayalam thriller out in cinemas.
The Malayalam crime thriller Officer on Duty, starring Kunchacko Boban, is now available on Netflix after its theatrical release last month. Directed by Jithu Ashraf, the film is also dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada, with English subtitles.
The film follows a demoted police officer who stumbles upon a dangerous criminal syndicate while investigating a counterfeit jewelry case. It also features Priyamani and Jagdish in key roles.
Boban, in a recent interview, called Officer on Duty his best performance yet. He credited his recent success to taking on unconventional roles, mentioning films like Enna Than Case Kodu and Bougainvillea.
The film received positive reviews, with critic Baradwaj Rangan praising Boban’s performance while noting the writing lacked depth. A viewer tweeted, “Another golden film from Malayalam cinema… Mind-blowing screenplay and BGM.”
Meanwhile, director Amal Neerad recently announced his next film featuring Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Jyothirmayi.
