Military tensions between India and Pakistan have reached their highest point in recent years. The crisis began on April 22, when terrorists attacked Indian tourists in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, killing 26 people after asking them their religion. In retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 — a series of precision strikes on nine terror hubs, four located in Pakistan and five in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The situation escalated further last night when Pakistan launched drone attacks across multiple Indian states including Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Punjab. These attacks were successfully neutralised by the Indian Army.
Amid the growing crisis, comedian Samay Raina shared a heartfelt post on Instagram about his father, journalist Rajesh Raina, who is currently in Jammu. “My father called me one last time tonight… urging me not to worry. His calm voice reassured me,” Samay wrote, reflecting on his emotions as he peered out into the night from his Mumbai home, thinking of others whose loved ones might be on the frontlines.
Other celebrities also voiced support. Actress Kangana Ranaut posted about the drone attack in Jammu, later launching a scathing criticism of Pakistan. Actor Anupam Kher shared a video from his cousin in Jammu and quoted him saying proudly, “We are in India. We are Indians. We are protected by the Indian Army and Mata Vaishno Devi. Don’t worry!”
In these testing times, let us keep our soldiers and their families in our thoughts and prayers, standing united behind those protecting the nation.
