From the lively lanes of Amritsar to the high-stakes world of Mumbai film sets, actress Aneet Padda has charted a journey marked by grit, hope and self-belief. In a candid session with fans she shared her belief that “you have to be your own soldier” when you’re entering an industry stacked with connections, auditions and rejection.
When asked how one could make it into Bollywood without a familial network or industry backing, Aneet didn’t sugar-coat the answer. She said: “Never tell yourself nothing is going to happen because you can make anything happen for yourself.” Her words arrived as a rallying cry for many young hopefuls who feel the odds are stacked against them. She added that although it felt distant and almost impossible at times, she decided early on: “Mujhe banna hai to banna hai.” And, as she noted, something did happen for her, which she described as “very cool.”
Aneet’s charm lies not just in her screen presence but in her grounded honesty. She admitted that the world will always try to put limits on you, telling you what you can and cannot do. Those early whispers of doubt, especially when you’re young and still finding your footing, can weigh heavily. But her advice is simple: find strength within. “You have to be your own soldier,” she reminded.
Her breakout role in the film Saiyaara which turned into a box-office success and made her a household name wasn’t enough to make her complacent. She views her journey as ongoing, and the newest projects she has lined up (one with Dinesh Vijan’s company, another with Maneesh Sharma) are stepping stones, not finish lines.
What resonates most is her message to those standing at the threshold of their dreams: you might not have the perfect entry ticket, but you do have yourself. Your persistence, your belief, your self-advocacy matter. Aneet Padda’s story isn’t just about stardom it’s about ownership of your own path. And in an industry where many wait for opportunity, she says: go make it.
