The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has strongly condemned Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan for their alleged "anti-India" remarks amid rising Indo-Pak tensions. In a press release, AICWA accused Mahira of calling India’s military response “seriously cowardly,” and Fawad of promoting divisive narratives instead of denouncing terrorism.

Labeling their comments as an affront to the nation and disrespectful to fallen Indian soldiers, AICWA reiterated its demand for a complete ban on all Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and financiers from working in India. “No Indian artist will collaborate with any Pakistani talent, nor share any global platform with them,” the association asserted.

The statement comes after India’s May 7 retaliatory strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan under 'Operation Sindoor,' following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.

AICWA also slammed Indian music labels and performers who continue to collaborate with Pakistani artists internationally, calling it a betrayal of national pride. The film Abir Gulal was specifically criticized for casting Fawad Khan, with AICWA calling it an insult to the memory of soldiers killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. The group urged the Indian entertainment industry to prioritize national interest over cross-border artistic partnerships.
