On Friday, May 23, 2025, Gautam Adani announced that the Adani Group would invest an additional ₹50,000 crore over the next decade in the North Eastern states, focusing on green energy, infrastructure, and digital development. This follows a previous ₹50,000 crore investment pledge made in Assam in February this year.

Speaking at the Rising Northeast Investors Summit in New Delhi, Adani emphasized that these investments would create local employment, promote entrepreneurship, and engage communities. “Three months ago, we committed ₹50,000 crore in Assam. Today, inspired by your leadership, I am pleased to announce another ₹50,000 crore investment across the Northeast over the next 10 years,” he said in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The proposed projects will cover smart meters, hydro and pumped storage power, transmission lines, roads and highways, digital infrastructure, logistics, and skill development through vocational training centers. “More than just building infrastructure, we are committed to investing in people,” Adani added. “Every project will support local jobs, businesses, and community engagement. This reflects the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.”

He described the Northeast as a key part of India's evolving growth story—rich in diversity, resilience, and untapped potential. “The region now symbolizes cultural pride, economic opportunity, and strategic importance,” Adani said.

He credited this transformation to Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and his “Act East, Act Fast, Act First” mantra, which Adani said served as a turning point for the region. Since 2014, there has been ₹6.2 lakh crore in investment, the road network has doubled to 16,000 km, and the number of airports has increased from 9 to 18.

“This isn’t just about policies; it reflects your philosophy of inclusive growth—Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” Adani said, addressing the Prime Minister. He also extended his commitment to working closely with the Chief Ministers of the North Eastern states, echoing the mission of the Union Minister for the region, and standing with the aspirations of the people.

“To our brothers and sisters in the Northeast—we at Adani stand with your dreams, your dignity, and your future,” he concluded.
