Donald Trump’s government is planning a crackdown on illegal immigration. According to a new draft, the U.S. may impose travel bans on 41 countries, including Pakistan. Officials say the new restrictions will be stricter than before.
According to Reuters, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bhutan are among the 41 countries under consideration for a U.S. travel ban. Additionally, 26 countries, including Pakistan, face the risk of visa suspension. If Pakistan fails to implement necessary reforms within 60 days, severe action could follow.
The U.S. has also placed 10 countries on a "red list," including Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, North Korea, and Syria. Citizens from these nations could see their visas completely suspended. Meanwhile, five other countries may face partial restrictions, affecting tourist, student, and immigrant visas.
Tensions between the U.S. and Pakistan escalated recently when a Pakistani diplomat stationed in Turkmenistan was denied entry into the U.S. and deported.
In January, the Trump administration signed an order mandating stricter security checks on all foreign nationals entering the U.S.
