West Bengal Announces NMMSE 2023-24 Results

The directorate of school education, West Bengal, has announced the NMMSE 2023-34 results for Class 8 students. The people who showed up in the test can look at their results through the official site at scholarships.wbsed.gov.in.

Students of Class 8 who got 55% or more marks in the Class 7 yearly test were qualified to show up in the centrally-sponsored National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) test. There was a five percent relaxation in passing grades provided to reserved category students.

WB NMMS 2023-24: Steps to check

  • Visit scholarships.wbsed.gov.in, the official website of WB NMMS Information.
    • Click on the “District Wise Selected Candidates List, NMMSE-2023.”
    • The district-wise selection list will be displayed via the dropdown menu.
    • Click the district where you submitted your application and where the exam was shared.
    • The student’s name, roll number, school name, district, and score will all be included in the PDF selection list.
    • Use the roll number or name to view your result by hitting Ctrl+F.
    • View the qualifying status if your name or roll number appears on the list.
    • Save the results for future reference.

WB NMMS 2023–24: Seven things to keep in mind

  • The West Bengal School Education Department provided tentative answer keys ahead of the results announcement and accepted complaints from candidates till December 26. The final answer key was drawn up after considering the feedback from applicants.
  • The NMMS scholarship programme is centrally financed and is open to students whose parents make less than Rs 3.5 lakh annually.
  • Students may apply for the NMMS scholarship if they are enrolled in government-sponsored schools, municipal bodies, government-recognized institutions, government-aided schools, or madrasahs without residential offices.
  • To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, students must receive a minimum of 55% of the possible points in the Class 7 final examinations. Students who are SC, ST, or handicapped are eligible for 5% relaxation.
  • The number of West Bengal quota beneficiaries has been set at 7,250 by the Ministry of Education.
  • Scholarships will be awarded to students who have passed both the SAT and the Mental Ability Test (MAT). The NMMS test consisted of two sections, the MAT and SAT, with a total of 180 questions. Although there was no suggested syllabus, questions from classes 7 and 8 were asked.
