Saule Bliuvaite’s Lithuanian film ‘Toxic’ earned the prestigious Golden Peacock Award at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which ended its nine-day run in Goa on Thursday night.
Vesta Matulyte and Leva Rupeikaite shared the Best Actor (Female) prize for their performances in ‘Toxic’. The film, which tells the tale of two 13-year-old girls who join a modeling school that tests their physical and emotional limitations, was part of the IFFI’s international competition division.
The Best Director Award was won by Romania’s Bogdan Muresanu for his film “The New Year That Never Came.
Actor Vikrant Massey was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the film industry by receiving the prestigious Indian Film Personality of the Year Award at the festival. This accolade highlights his talent and dedication to his craft and celebrates his significant impact on Indian cinema.
Renowned Indian filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar was the chairperson of the jury which judged films in the international competition section category.
