Uber One Subscription Plan Now in India: Features and Details

Uber has launched the Uber One subscription plan in India, its latest product following the silent discontinuation of the Rider Pass function. Rider Pass formerly provided consumers with discounts on all rides for a month.

According to Moneycontrol, the new Uber One plan provides similar benefits with greater flexibility, making it an appealing alternative for frequent customers. While this function is new in India, it has already acquired traction in Canada and the United States.

What is Uber One?

Uber One is the ride-hailing company’s latest subscription package for Indian consumers, which includes benefits such as ride reductions, priority assistance, and special deals. Users may select from three plans: Rs 149 per month, Rs 349 for three months, or Rs 1,499 per year. Subscribers can earn Uber Credits (up to Rs 150 each trip) to help cover transportation costs. However, membership cancellations are only allowed to yearly subscribers, and once cancelled, customers forfeit all credits and advantages.

Uber One also comes with a three-month Zomato Gold membership, adding value for users with exclusive dining and delivery benefits. This collaboration reflects Uber’s intent to expand its ecosystem, appealing not just to riders but also to food lovers.

The launch of Uber One comes as India’s ride-hailing market grows increasingly competitive. New players like Namma Yatri, backed by Google, are shaking things up with their own subscription plans and driver-focused features. Uber’s move is a strategic push to retain its edge and attract loyal customers in this dynamic space.

Safety and Convenience Updates

In addition to Uber One, the company has rolled out several safety-focused features. These include SOS integration for emergencies, a helmet selfie feature for pillion riders, and a women rider preference for female drivers. Uber has also supported the government’s e-Shram portal, promoting gig worker registration to align with India’s Code on Social Security.

Globally, Uber One has over 25 million subscribers, and bringing it to India is a strategic step to strengthen customer loyalty. With thoughtful perks, safety enhancements, and a broader ecosystem, Uber aims to redefine its user experience and fend off competitors in a fast-changing market.
