UAE Introduces New Visa Fines for Residents and Tourists

The UAE Digital Government, in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (UAEICP), has unveiled a fresh set of visa fines applicable to both residents and tourists within the nation.

These fines are designed to address overstays on expired residence or visit visas, streamlining the fee structure for individuals in the country.

As per the updated regulations, a fixed fine of AED50 will be levied for each day following the visa’s expiry date, including any grace period allotted for visa renewal.

To facilitate easy access to information, the Digital Government encourages individuals to utilize the official Authority website and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai’s (GDRFA) website. These online platforms offer a comprehensive breakdown of visa service charges, encompassing expenses related to visa issuance, extension, and cancellation.

Notably, tourists in the UAE can now extend their stay without the need to exit the country. Entry and visa permit applications can be conveniently submitted through various channels, including the authority’s website, its smart application, the Dubai Now application, and authorized typing centers.

Upon submitting an application and obtaining approval through these channels, the applicant will receive an approval letter along with the original entry permit, ensuring a streamlined process for visa-related matters.
