Trump-Musk Interview Revealed: Key Takeaways

In a much-awaited return to social media, former US President Donald Trump disclosed graphic details of an attempted murder in a live interview with Elon Musk on X, the former Twitter platform, and vowed to carry out the largest deportation in US history. Many of Trump’s supporters were irritated by the discussion’s technical issues, which caused it to start more than forty minutes later than planned.

Highlights of the interview: Recounted attempt at assassination

“If I had not turned my head, I would not be talking to you right now — as much as I like you,” Trump told Musk. He attributed his survival to quick reflexes and divine intervention, emphasizing the severity of the situation by stating, “For those people that don’t believe in God, I think we all have to start thinking about that.”

Musk responded by praising Trump’s bravery, saying, “You can’t fake bravery under such circumstances — the courage is instinctual or it is not.” Trump reflected on the aftermath of the incident, recalling how he wanted to reassure his supporters by standing up and showing he was unharmed. “I wanted to get up and let them know I was okay — and they went wild,” he said.

Criticism of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden

Trump attacked President Joe Biden saying he “failed miserably” in the presidential debate with him. He also called Biden’s exit a “coup” by Democrats.

Trump also seized the opportunity to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris and labeled her as “fake”, blaming her for the influx of illegal migrants. “The number of illegals Kamala has welcomed into our communities is much bigger than we think,” Trump asserted, accusing her of allowing criminals to enter the country.

He also attacked Biden’s handling of the Ukraine crisis, claiming that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if he were still president. Trump suggested that his strong relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin could have prevented the conflict, saying, “I got along with Putin very well, and he respected me.”

Labels Kamala Harris ‘more incompetent than Biden’

Donald Trump sharply criticized Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, calling her a “third-rate phoney candidate” and “more incompetent” than President Joe Biden. The former president accused Harris of being a “radical left lunatic” and alleged she aimed to outdo him in extremism. “She’s incompetent, and he (Biden) is incompetent. And frankly, I think that she’s more incompetent than he is, and that’s saying something because he’s not too good,” he said.

The 78-year-old former president said, “She is a radical left lunatic,” as he alleged that “she wants to be more Trump than Trump”. Musk agreed with the former president and said, “Her behaviour is far left.”

Immigration policy pledge

Reiterating his hardline stance on immigration, Trump promised the largest deportation in US history if re-elected. He claimed that the number of illegal migrants has surged to an estimated “50-60 million people” from regions including Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. “They are coming in from everywhere,” Trump said, criticizing the current administration’s handling of the situation.

Trump’s plan, described as a major component of his platform, aims to remove millions of undocumented migrants from the United States. “We will undertake the largest deportation effort ever seen in this country,” Trump declared. “Our goal is to restore order and ensure that our immigration laws are enforced to the fullest extent.”

Trump vows to shut down US education department

Trump also announced his intention to eliminate the US Department of Education if re-elected. The discussion covered various topics, including an assassination attempt on Trump and his controversial stance on illegal immigration, which he claimed “saved” his life.
Technical glitches and delays

The interview faced significant technical difficulties, with over 878,000 users connected but unable to hear the conversation for more than 40 minutes after the scheduled start time. Musk attributed the delay to a “massive attack” that overwhelmed the platform’s systems, adding to the frustration of Trump’s supporters.
