Samsung confirms the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature Corning’s new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and a sleek 5.85mm profile. Launching May 13, the flagship boasts a Snap
Samsung Electronics and Corning Incorporated have officially announced that the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge will feature Corning’s latest innovation—Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. This advanced glass ceramic promises improved durability while maintaining a slim profile.
“Galaxy S25 Edge represents a leap forward in design and performance as the slimmest Galaxy S series device to date,” said Kwangjin Bae, EVP and Head of Mechanical R&D for Samsung’s Mobile eXperience Business. “We needed a display material that could be both ultra-thin and highly durable. This led to a close collaboration with Corning, built on a mutual commitment to engineering excellence and user-focused design. That commitment shines through in every aspect of the Galaxy S25 Edge.” The device will make its official debut during a livestreamed launch event on Samsung’s YouTube channel on 13 May at 9 a.m. KST (12 May at 8 p.m. EDT / 5 p.m. PDT).
Trusted leaker Roland Quandt from WinFuture reveals that the S25 Edge will impress with its sleek 5.85mm thickness and 163g weight. It’s expected to feature a premium titanium frame, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front for enhanced protection and style.
Rumours suggest a 6.7-inch AMOLED display (1440x3120 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate), an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The phone will likely come with 12GB RAM and options for 256GB or 512GB storage. A 3,900mAh battery, wireless charging support, and IP68 water/dust resistance are also expected.
According to Quandt, pricing in Germany will start at €1,249 for the 256GB version and €1,369 for the 512GB model. Positioned between the Galaxy S25 Plus and Ultra, the S25 Edge will be available in Titanium Jet Black, Titanium Icy Blue, and Titanium Silver.
