Nothing’s upcoming Phone 3 is set to launch in July, potentially without its signature Glyph Interface. Featuring a 6.77-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Nothing’s upcoming flagship, the Phone 3, might not include the brand’s distinctive Glyph Interface. Shortly after confirming a July launch, the British tech company posted on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “We killed the Glyph Interface,” indicating that the new phone will likely forgo the signature rear LED lighting system seen in previous models.
The announcement included a brief video showing the Glyph Interface from the original Nothing Phone (1) blinking a few times before fading out. Introduced with the Phone (1) in 2022, the Glyph Interface has been a hallmark feature on all Nothing phones except the CMF-branded ones. It offers face-down notification alerts, visual timer countdowns, and real-time app interactions like Uber updates.
Regarding the Phone 3, Nothing recently shared a close-up image hinting at the return of the brand’s iconic transparent back design. At The Android Show: I/O Edition, Nothing CEO Carl Pei previewed the Phone 3 but kept its design blurred. He described it as Nothing’s first “true flagship,” suggesting the use of more premium materials such as metal and glass.
Pei also hinted that the Phone 3 will be priced higher, around £800 (about Rs 90,000), nearly double the launch price of the Phone (2) from 2023, which was Rs 44,999.
As for specs, the Phone 3 is expected to feature a 6.77-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness reaching 3,000 nits. It may be powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the newer Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The phone is likely to have a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 32MP front camera, and a 5,000mAh battery supporting 50W wired and 20W wireless charging.
