WhatsApp New Feature: Meta is working on better integrating all its social media platforms.
WhatsApp is soon introducing a feature that will allow users to set their profile photo directly from Instagram or Facebook.
What’s the new WhatsApp feature?
As per a report by WABetaInfo, this new feature has been spotted in WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.21.23. Currently, it is available only to select beta users, but it is expected to roll out to all users soon.
How will it work?
Until now, WhatsApp users could set their profile picture using the camera, gallery, avatar, or AI-generated images. With the new update, users will also see options to choose a photo directly from Instagram and Facebook when editing their profile.
This means you can now use your favorite photo from Facebook or Instagram directly on WhatsApp without needing to download or take a screenshot—maintaining the image quality.
Linking your accounts is required
To use this feature, you’ll need to link your WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram accounts through the Meta Accounts Center. Meta launched this linking feature earlier this year, allowing several functions to be integrated across platforms.
Meta is consistently working to unify its platforms. Users can now share Instagram stories directly on WhatsApp and even add a WhatsApp button to business accounts.
This new profile photo feature not only simplifies the process of setting a profile picture on WhatsApp but also marks a significant step towards deeper integration across Meta’s apps.
