Shri Goyal Highlights Substantial Increase in India’s Exports to Nordic Countries

India’s exports to Nordic countries have expanded dramatically in recent years, according to Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, who spoke today at the 2nd CII India Nordic-Baltic Business Conclave 2023.

The Union Minister stated that India’s exports to the Nordic area increased by 39% between 2018-19 and 2022-23, with exports to Finland and Norway increasing by 100% and 80%, respectively. Highlighting the region’s recent proximity to India, the Minister stated that Indian Cuisine, Bollywood, Yoga, Ayurveda, and Textiles are immensely popular in the Nordic-Baltic region.

In his speech, Shri Goyal stated that Nordic-Baltic nations have the best of innovation, green tech, AI & blockchain-led transformation, supply chain logistics & fintech, and these are the areas where India has made great strides in addition to being an economic powerhouse with vast mineral resources and talent pool.

Speaking in the presence of Nordic leaders, Shri Goyal stated that it is an exciting period of collaboration, innovation, and shared prosperity, with a common vision on global issues and possibilities.

Shri Goyal also urged Nordic-Baltic enterprises to exhibit, participate in, and collaborate at forthcoming trade fairs in India.

He informed the audience that BharatTex, which will take place from February 26 to February 29, will include over 3,500 exhibitors from over 40 nations. The Bharat Mobility Show will take place from February 1 to 3 and will feature an Auto Fair as well as an electrical component as a significant element.
