PM Modi Retains Title as World’s Most Popular Leader with 76% Approval Rating

In a recent survey conducted by US-based decision intelligence company ‘Morning Consult,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again emerged as the most popular global leader, boasting an impressive 76% approval rating. The survey, conducted from November 29 to December 5, included a diverse sample size ranging from approximately 500 to 5,000 adult residents in each country, providing a comprehensive snapshot of international sentiment.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders are quick to attribute this global recognition to what they term as “Modi’s magic.” Following the recent assembly election results in five states, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla emphasized that an international poll has validated Modi’s governance model and delivery, highlighting the Prime Minister’s ability to maintain high approval ratings even during challenging times such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

Poonawalla remarked, “It is because he had been able to deliver on development and growth while managing inflation and taking more than 13.5 crore people out of poverty. The approval rating will be reflected in the Lok Sabha polls in 2024.”

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy echoed the sentiment, proclaiming on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), “With 76% rating, PM Shri @narendramodi yet again tops the Global Approval Ratings to become the World’s Most Popular Leader.” Reddy credited Modi’s decades-long administrative and legislative experience, coupled with empathetic leadership, for earning him a special place in the hearts of millions of Indians.

BJP leader CT Ravi praised Modi as a “karma yogi,” attributing the high approval ratings to the Prime Minister’s relentless hard work, visionary approach, and dedication to transforming the country. Ravi stated, “Today, the entire world looks up to PM Modi for guidance and advice in solving its problems.”

Prakash Javadekar, another prominent BJP leader, expressed his pride in Modi, declaring, “My PM… My Pride! World’s Most Popular Leader!”

While Modi has consistently held the title of the most popular leader in previous surveys, the current data indicates a slight dip from the 78 percent approval rating he received until November 20. Nonetheless, the Prime Minister’s popularity remains unrivaled.

The survey also revealed other global leaders in the popularity chart. Mexican leader Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador secured the second position with a 66 percent approval rating, followed by Swiss leader Alain Berset with a 58 percent approval rating.

As the survey reflects the sentiments of diverse populations around the world, it provides an insightful glimpse into the global perception of political leaders, with Modi continuing to command widespread approval and admiration.
