Team India mostly has a new crop of cricketers in its squad, which is presently playing a 03 – match T20I series against Sri Lanka without the two most celebrated Indian cricketers, hitman Sharma and Virat Kohli. The team is led by the Gujarat Titans hero, Hardik Pandya with Suryakumar Yadav as his deputy. The new team is being closely monitored by the select committee and the coach for its continuance in the forthcoming T20I series. Pandya specially is monitored for his captaincy skills of Team India in this stop-gap arrangement before giving him full charge of captaincy in T20Is.

The New Zealand team, also known as the – ” Black Caps ” in cricketing circles will tour India for a three – T 20 I and an equal number of ODI matches. This series will begin on January 18. According to the BCCI sources, the APEX board has now decided to move on from the two legendary – duo – Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, apart from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Md. Shami, and R. Ashwin as they no longer fit in the Indian side for the shortest version of the white-ball game. These players are not a part of the ongoing Sri Lanka T 20 I series. According to the BCCI sources, this move is likely to be the first step for ferrying out senior players, particularly having 30 + years of age. The sources further added that such celebrity players are neither – ” dropped “not-rested “. But it is an effort of revamping the Indian squad with younger cricketers after the nation-wide criticism of the selection committee and the head – coach after post shameful defeat of Team India in two important tournaments of Team India, the T 20 I World Cup and the Asia Cup.
