KVS Admission 2024-25: Application Dates and Important Details

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has released the admission schedule for classes I to XI for the academic session 2024-25. The application registration for class I admission will be open from 8 am on April 1 until 5 pm on April 15. Additionally, registration for class XI admission will commence 10 days following the announcement of the class X board exam results.

It is important to note that for admission to class I, children must be at least six years old as of March 31, 2024, with a cut-off date of April 1, 2018. The admission board has instructed all newly opened Kendriya Vidyalaya to conduct class I admission through the OLA portal and for other classes in offline mode only. Offline registrations for classes II and above will also commence on April 1, concluding on April 10. Notably, KVS has introduced a new admission portal catering to the admission process across all 1,254 Kendriya Vidyalaya schools.

Balvatika registrations

Registrations for Balvatika levels 1, 2, and 3 will be conducted offline in schools from April 1. It is crucial to be aware of the age criteria for each level: children should be between 3 to 6 years old, as of March 31, 2024. Furthermore, KV admissions adhere to reservation quotas, with 15% of seats reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 27% for OBC categories.

Important dates

The registration process follows a strict timeline, with the registration window for class I starting on April 1 and closing on April 15. The first selected and waitlisted lists of registered students will be released on April 19, followed by subsequent lists on April 29 and May 8. In the event of insufficient applications, a second notification for class I admissions will be issued on May 7, with registration from May 8 to May 15. Registrations for class II and above will be accepted offline from April 1 to April 10, with admission processes ongoing until June 29, except for class XI.

How to apply

For successful admission, parents must ensure they have the necessary documents, including the child’s original birth certificate, SC/ST/OBC certificate (if applicable), residential certificate, service certificate of the child’s mother/father, and two photographs of the child.
