Kohli’s Mumbai Arrival: Exclusive Request To Paps About Daughter Vamika

Virat Kohli, accompanied by his wife Anushka Sharma and adorable daughter Vamika, made a distinctive solo entry into Mumbai ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 semifinal against New Zealand.

Kohli, the leading run-scorer in the tournament, arrived separately from the Indian team, emphasizing the uniqueness of his journey. The couple and Vamika, who have consistently shielded their private life from the media, landed in Mumbai in different flights alongside the rest of Team India.

On their arrival at Mumbai airport, Kohli, donning a mask, made a special plea to the awaiting photographers, urging them to respect his family’s privacy, especially refraining from clicking pictures of his daughter Vamika. The celebrity duo has been resolute in safeguarding Vamika from the prying eyes of the media.

Despite his request for privacy, Kohli graciously posed for photos with fans and photographers before making a quick exit with a lighthearted comment, “Are yaar beti to ghar leke jaana hai (I have to take my daughter home).”

Kohli’s outstanding performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, including his fifth half-century and his debut World Cup wicket against the Netherlands on Diwali night, has been a highlight. With 594 runs in 9 matches at an impressive average of 99, Kohli is the tournament’s highest run-getter.

As India, the only undefeated team in the World Cup, gears up to face New Zealand in the semifinal at Wankhede Stadium, Kohli eyes a historic feat – becoming the first cricketer to score 50 ODI centuries. The 36-year-old batsman, recognizing the significance of the knockout stage, aims to improve his past record in ODI World Cup knockout games.

Notably, in the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, Kohli, then the captain, scored just 1 run. This time, free from captaincy responsibilities, he seeks redemption and hopes to contribute significantly as a batter.
