India’s Commitment to Global Economy and Renewable Energy: Minister Goyal

India’s Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles, Shri Piyush Goyal, has emphasized the importance of renewable energy in integrating the nation into the global economy. He delivered a Keynote Address at the ‘MNRE-CII: 4th International Conference & Exhibition on Clean Energy’ in New Delhi, emphasizing the need for clean, sustainable, just, affordable, and inclusive energy transition. Goyal cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a prime example of businesses going beyond borders and boundaries to contribute to sustainability and interconnectedness.

Goyal urged attendees to focus on capturing more global markets through renewable energy projects and emphasized India’s engineering expertise and potential to participate actively in renewable energy projects worldwide. He urged larger companies to collaborate and partner with other countries to achieve global energy transition goals.

Goyal also highlighted India’s G20 Presidency under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has allowed the country to champion emerging markets and address climate change and natural disasters. He praised India’s efforts to create economic opportunities, generate jobs, and improve the quality of life for millions. The focus on clean energy in G20 decisions is essential for addressing climate change and natural disasters.

Goyal called for active participation and contribution from all stakeholders for the implementation of the deliverables decided under India’s G20 Presidency. He also highlighted the significance of economic development banks providing low-cost financing for sustainability and renewable energy projects, leading to economic opportunities and job creation.
