Indian Navy and IIT Kanpur Sign MoU for Collaborative Research

The Indian Navy and the Indian Institute of technological Kanpur signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today at Naval Headquarters in New Delhi, signaling their commitment to encourage technological development, creative solutions, and combined research and development.

This MoU was signed by Rear Admiral K Srinivas, Asst Chief of Materiel (Dockyard & Refits), and Professor Subramaniam Ganesh, Officiating Director IIT Kanpur.

IN and IIT Kanpur have a mutual interest in academic exchange of scientific research activities linked to defense technology in the field of engineering.

The Memorandum of Understanding would act as a larger framework, allowing both parties to improve capacity building, provide answers to field level concerns, and improve training efficacy through the exchange of faculty/guest lectures. The structured partnership focuses on cooperative R&D projects involving teams from the Centre of Excellence (Marine).

This strategic alignment represents a shift toward a symbolic link between academics and the military services, establishing an atmosphere conducive to innovation as well as knowledge interaction.
