Security forces continue a major search operation in Kathua, Jammu, after reports of terrorist infiltration near the Pakistan border.
A search operation against infiltrating terrorists in Jammu’s Kathua district continued for the second day on March 24, 2025. Led by DGP Nalin Prabhat, security forces intensified efforts with commandos, drones, and sniffer dogs. The operation began after intelligence reports indicated terrorists hiding in a ‘dhok’ in Sanyal village, near the Pakistan border.
A gunfight erupted when Special Operations Group personnel entered the area, but no casualties were reported. Villagers later spotted five armed men in the nursery, and a woman recounted how terrorists briefly held her husband at gunpoint before she escaped. A seven-year-old girl sustained minor injuries from a stray bullet.
Kathua has become a key infiltration route for Pakistan-based terrorists targeting Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces are conducting relentless operations to curb rising terror activities.
