BJP taunts Congress after Shashi Tharoor acknowledges misjudgment on India's Ukraine policy, suggesting Rahul Gandhi may be left "red-faced." BJP leaders highli
The BJP ridiculed the Congress after its MP Shashi Tharoor said he was left with an “egg on his face” regarding India’s neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine war, further suggesting that Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi might be left “red-faced” after the statement.
BJP leaders remarked that it was encouraging to see prominent Congress leaders acknowledge the strategic importance through which the center handles matters of global importance and hoped that Congress would not take any unjust actions against Tharoor for his recognition of the Prime Minister’s diplomatic approach.
Firing shots at Congress, BJP leader and former Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said Mr. Modi’s vision for India is being appreciated by rival parties which is a feat in itself. “Congressmen, including Rahul (Gandhi), Chidambaram, Raghuram Rajan, are all having to eat their words (or egg on face) on the economy, UPI, manufacturing and so much more,” he tweeted on X.
Noted economist Raghuram Rajan is however not a part of any political party and was the RBI governor from 2013-2016.
“This will likely leave Rahul Gandhi red-faced, with the Congress media department scrambling to clarify that Shashi Tharoor's remarks reflect his personal views - not the party's official stance - despite Tharoor having led the party's charge on the issue in Parliament,” BJP IT Cell Chief tweeted as well.
