India Defeats Zimbabwe in 3rd T20I

India secured their second consecutive victory by defeating Zimbabwe by 23 runs in the third T20I held in Harare on Wednesday.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, India had a strong start with Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal forging a solid partnership in the initial overs. Jaiswal scored 36 runs but was dismissed by Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza, who rued his team’s missed opportunities in the field. Gill continued to anchor the innings, supported later by Ruturaj Gaikwad, although Gill slowed down after reaching his fifty and eventually got out for 66. India set a target of 183 runs for Zimbabwe.

India’s bowlers performed well, with Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed taking three wickets during Zimbabwe’s batting powerplay. Ravi Bishnoi’s spectacular catch from backward point dismissed Zimbabwe’s number three batsman.

Despite a resilient unbeaten innings of 65 runs from Dion Myers and a contribution of 37 runs from Clive Mandande, Zimbabwe couldn’t muster enough support for a win. They fell short by 23 runs as India took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. The next game between the two teams is scheduled for July 13.
