IISc Bangalore Introduces New Short-Term Course: Check Eligibility and Fees

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore on March 18 announced a new short-term course on Intelligent Monte Carlo Simulations and Machine Learning-Based Methods in Computational Structural Reliability. This course is designed for current and aspiring candidates.

While the registration is underway and the last date to register for the new short term course is June 25, 2024, the IISc Bangalore course will start on July 5 and will continue till July 9, 2024. The mode of the course is in-person and the venue where you can complete this course is the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560012.

The new course is aimed at faculty members from engineering colleges in the areas of civil, mechanical, aerospace, and automotive engineering; research scholars engaged in research in the broad area of uncertainty quantification in structural engineering, scientists from research laboratories; and industrial practitioners in the areas of structural engineering, aerospace and defense applications, railway and highway engineering; and automotive engineering who need to deal with uncertainties in loading and structural systems.

Eligibility

  • Desirable minimum qualification: MTech in Civil/Mechanical/Aerospace/Automotive Engineering or equivalent. 
  • Exposure to subjects of probability, random processes, and machine learning would be an advantage but not essential.

Course Fee

Students: Rs 5,000 + 18% GST 

Faculty Members from Educational Institutes: Rs 10,000 + 18% GST 

Participants from R&D Labs and Industry: Rs 20,000 + 18% GST

How to apply for short-term courses at IISc 2024

  1. If you are a first time user, please register at the portal. A verification link will be sent to the registered e-mail address to verify the e-mail address.
  2. After verification, login to the portal using the Username (email address provided during registration) and password.
  3. Select the course you want to apply under the list of courses and click on the “Apply Now” link
  4. Fill in all the credentials such as photograph, select the level (student/faculty/industry), and upload the recommendation letter.
  5. Click on the pay option where you will be taken to the gateway page.
  6. Select the payment option (credit card/debit card/net banking) at the gateway page and complete the payment for which an acknowledgment mail will be received from CCE.
