ICAI May Consider Postponing CA May-June Exams 2024: Details Inside

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) may postpone the CA Foundation, Final, and Intermediate examinations for the May session if the dates coincide with the general elections in 2024.

The registration window for the CA May test 2024 concluded on February 23, 2024.

While the General Election for the 18th Lok Sabha will take place this year, the notification is still pending.

“The Examination Committee may reschedule the May 2024 CA Examination, if the dates of the General Election coincide with the present examination schedule,” according to the notice sent by the ICAI.

According to the ICAI timetable, candidates who are yet to submit their applications for the CA examinations 2024 will be eligible to register by paying a late fee of Rs 600, or $10. All the registered candidates from March 3 to 9 can make changes in their filled application forms. The CA Foundation, Intermediate, and Final test registration forms should be completed on the official website at eservices.icai.org.

ICAI has further provided the eligibility criteria for the empanelment, to act as observers. Applicants should not be over 65 years of age, should not be a coaching student or have a criminal record.

The ICAI also said an honorarium of Rs 3,000 per day or per session and Rs 350 as conveyance reimbursement for ‘A’ class cities and Rs 250 for other cities per day will be paid to cover cost of local travel. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Pune are considered the ‘’A’ class cities.

The application window for candidates who are keen to register for being observers will be closed on March 5 at observers.icaiexam.icai.org.
