A health emergency has been declare in Turakapalem, a village in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district, after the tragic deaths of 20 peoples over last two months from a unexplained illness. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed health officials to take urgent and serious action to tackle the crisis.

Preliminary investigations says the illness could be spreading through contaminated water or air, but exact cause is unknown. State government has sent high-level medical team to village to do detailed investigations and give immediate medical care.

Health Minister Y. Satya Kumar Yadav expressed strong concern over delay in identify the cause and ordered mandatory health checks for all villagers, include tests for diabetes, kidney problem, blood pressure, and other important health indicators. He stressed rapid action based on test results is essential for prevent more deaths.

Government also ensured supply of safe drinking water and stepped up sanitation measure, including cleaning environment and doing larval inspections. Medical teams already visited all 800 households, collect blood samples from 2,000 residents for analysis.

Officials say some deaths may be from natural causes, accidents, or suicides, but sudden rise in fatalities alarmed authorities and villagers. Situation still under close observation as teams work tireless to find cause and prevent more lives lost.

This crisis left community anxious, showing urgent need for timely medical interventions and importance of public health in rural area.
